Real Madrid are working on a deal to sign Eduardo Camavinga, sources in France have told The Athletic.

The Athletic understands the Spanish giants are hoping to bring the Rennes midfielder to the club before the deadline on Tuesday.

Camavinga has come through the ranks at Rennes, having joined the club's youth system at the age of 11. He stood out from a young age, penning his first professional deal with them at the age of 16 years and one month.

That made him the youngest ever professional in Rennes' history.

Camavinga then went on to make his debut against Angers in April 2019, again breaking a record and becoming their youngest ever player at the age of 16 years and four months.

By August 2019, he was shining for his boyhood club. He provided an assist and starred, winning the man of the match award as Rennes beat Paris Saint-Germain 2-1.
