Tyrone Mings given five-game ban for violent conduct after Zlatan Ibrahimovic clash

Tyrone Mings has been given a five-game ban by the FA for violent conduct after appearing to stamp on Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The Bournemouth defender was facing a three-match ban after being charged in the aftermath of Saturday's 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford and had chosen to appeal.
However, the FA had outlined plans to enforce an increased ban on Mings for his offence, following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing on Wednesday.In their statement, the FA said: "The FA has submitted a claim that the standard punishment that would otherwise apply for the misconduct committed by the Bournemouth defender is 'clearly insufficient'."
Ibrahimovic was banned for three matches for an elbow on Mings in the same game.
Mings said after Saturday's Premier League game at Old Trafford that the stamp was accidental, and Sky sources have confirmed the club are backing their player on that.
However, a two-match suspension has been added by the Commission to the standard sanction for violent conduct.
A statement from Bournemouth said they were "extremely disappointed" with the decision, and insist there is no evidence to warrant the ban.
"We will study the detailed reasons of the commission once they become available but find it extraordinary that the charges can be described as 'proven' when there is absolutely no evidence to prove the incident was intentional," the statement read.
"It is our strongly held belief - backed up by our relationship with the player, and knowledge of his background and character - that it was an accidental collision.
"Tyrone twice apologised to Ibrahimovic during the match for the accidental collision and also reiterated that there was no intent straight after the final whistle in a series of television interviews.
"We fully support our player. Tyrone has an excellent disciplinary record and has not been sent off in 75 matches as a professional. During that time he has only received 13 yellow cards - the last of which came in April 2015."
The hearing took place after three former referees sat down and independently decided Mings should have been sent off for the incident in the 44th minute of last weekend's fixture between United and Bournemouth.
The Independent Regulatory Commission was then tasked with looking at the severity of the punishment and found it did not accept Mings' defence, siding with the FA's case that this incident deserved more than the standard three games for violent conduct.
