Man City transfer news: Jovetic 'happy to be back' in Italy to seal Inter dealStevan Jovetic has touched down in Milan as a £14.35million move to Inter moves closer. The City striker boarded a flight from Hanoi yesterday when the two clubs struck an agreement which will see the Montenegro ace join the Serie A club on an initial two-year loan for £2.1million.Then, in 2017, Inter will stump up a further £10.25million in a compulsory purchase agreement, similar to that which took Alvaro Negredo to Valencia earlier this summer.
The deal will also include £2million in add-ons and a 20 per cent sell-on fee.Jovetic stepped off the flight and told waiting Italian journalists: “Physically I'm in good shape.”
But he has not yet kicked a ball in earnest this summer.
“I’m happy to be back, I know that the fans expect a lot from me,” he added.
Despite flying out for the Blues' pre-season training camp a fortnight ago, he is the only senior member of the touring squad who has been left on the bench for the three friendly matches played since he arrived.
It was a clear message from manager Manuel Pellegrini, who left Jovetic and Edin Dzeko on the sidelines in the penalty shoot-out win over Roma.
He later said he had left out Dzeko as it was unsure whether he would continue to play at the club – and that clearly applied to Jovetic as well.
'Jo Jo' signed for the Blues in a deal worth £22million two years ago, but persistent injury problems and inconsistent form have dogged his time with the Blues.
He ended up playing 39 games and scoring 11 goals for City spread over two seasons.
