Nuno confirms Negredo exile



Nuno Santo has confirmed Alvaro Negredo’s exile from the Valencia squad and hinted that the striker has played his last game for the club.

The former Manchester City man was expected to be recalled for Saturday’s derby against Levante following an injury to Rodrigo Moreno, but he remains out of the squad and his Coach refused to rule out a January sale at a Press conference ahead of the match.

“It's a decision based on technicalities. Alvaro won’t be in the squad,” he said.

“It's not our final decision, but [on Saturday] he won’t be with us.

“He remains the same player, and I hope he can help us in the future. Neither has [Rodrigo] de Paul travelled.

“[On whether he has played his last game], the winter transfer window is far away.

“There’s a lot of competition in attack, but nothing has been decided in that regard.

“[Santi] Mina and [Zakaria] Bakkali are versatile players who have played in [Rodrigo’s] position and can play together as strikers.”
