Moyes keen on loan deals
David Moyes has confessed he would be interested in bringing Emmanuel Adebayor or Nicklas Bendtner to Everton, but only if he could acquire the players on loan.
Moyes has made clear his intention to bolster his striking options in the January transfer window, with Jermaine Beckford, Louis Saha and Yakubu registering just five goals between them so far this season. Midfielder Tim Cahill is the Toffees' top scorer with eight, but he will soon be unavailable as he departs on Asian Cup duty for Australia.
The names of Adebayor and Bendtner, along with Roque Santa Cruz and Landon Donovan, were put to Moyes by the Liverpool Echo, and the Everton manager left the door well and truly open to the possibility.
"I think if any of them became available towards us we'd look," said Moyes. "But in this window there will not be enough to pick and choose. You might have to take what you can if you need something.
"I would like to add two or three but they will be loan players. We have a few people in mind so we will see how it goes. You have to be careful not to think that suddenly everyone arrives here on January 1 because it won't happen, it will be through the month. You can't just say, 'that is the one I want' because clubs don't let centre-forwards out on loan unless they are surplus to requirements. We will see what there is and what we can do.
"Positional wise we could do with a centre-forward and we have been short of a wide right for most of the season so I could do with those two positions. Seamus Coleman has done really well but we would like to give him a breather here or there.
"I have spoken with [Donovan] and he was going on holiday. I would hope to hear something next week if there was any chance. If not we will try and move towards something else."
