Official: Barcelona's Aliaksandr Hleb to join Wolfsburg on loan in October
The 30-year-old has been frozen out in Spain and spent last season at Birmingham City; he will join up with the Bundesliga side once he recovers from a knee injury
Barcelona have confirmed that Aliaksandr Hleb will leave the Camp Nou to join Bundelsiga outfit Wolfsburg on loan, with the midfielder moving to Germany when he recovers from injury.
The 30-year-old has had a frustrating time at the European champions following his transfer from Arsenal in July 2008, and has spent time out on temporary deals at Stuttgart and Birmingham over the last two seasons.
The Belarus international has become surplus to requirements due to the embarrassment of riches at Pep Guardiola's disposal, and a statement on the Catalan outfit's website has confirmed the deal.
Barcelona vice-president Josep Maria Bartomeu has clarified that the cost of the transfer will depend on the number of games the former Arsenal man plays for Felix Magath's team.
Hleb has been sidelined with a knee injury that he picked up whilst at St Andrews, and will only join his new team when fully fit and ready to play, which is expected to be in October.
