Cesc Fabregas has re-affirmed his desire to join Barcelona after fresh talks with Arsenal.
Manager Arsene Wenger had told the 23-year-old in a heart to heart discussion last month to leave any transfer dealings with him but Fabregas has once again underlined his stance in a conversation with his manager and wants the club to press ahead with a deal.
Wenger has steadfastly refused to sell despite the intensive propaganda behind Barcelona's bid and is believed to be ready to stand his ground despite his captain's wishes.
However, Barcelona will this weekend bank around £25million, once the sale of Yaya Toure to Manchester City is formalised, and that will be put towards a fresh bid for Fabregas.
Barca have already offered £29m but that is likely to jump to around £35m before the end of the month and in time for Sandro Rossell's unveiling as president on July 1.
Meanwhile, Arsenal will reject a £4m bid from Galatasaray for Alex Song and William Gallas has turned down Juventus's two year contract offer worth £1.64m a year.
