Juventus right-back Dani Alves is keen on a move to Manchester City as he likes the idea of a reunion with his former Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola.
Though he has one year left on his contract, Alves has not enjoyed his time in Turin, with fans turning on him after he suggested starting striker Paulo Dybala needed to leave the club to improve.
Sportsmail reported City's interest and that of Chelsea in the Brazilian earlier this year, and now the 34-year-old is ready to leave.
Speculation that Alves is due to leave heightened on Saturday when teammate Gonzalo Higuain took to social media to bid Alves farewell.
Higuain said: 'It was a pleasure playing with you. I wish you the best and hope to spend time together again soon. Bye genius.' The message was swiftly taken down.
City have been exploring full-back options with talks ongoing over Benjamin Mendy at Monaco while Southampton's Ryan Bertrand is also on their list. Tottenham Hotspur meanwhile want more than £40m for Kyle Walker.

The Guardian claims that Manchester City would need to pay just £5m to sign Dani Alves from Juventus.

The newspaper reports that City have approached the Italian club and are willing to offer the 34-year-old a two-year deal.

He then told Dybala to leave Juventus and there was also a goodbye message from Higuain (that was then deleted).
This is a lot of indications as Dani Alves is now inching closer to leaving Turin.

Juventus are waiting to talk with Manchester City as this should occur soon.
Negotiations between both clubs are ready to begin as City are looking to find an agreement with the player and with Juventus.

Man City are interested in signing Dani Alves from Juventus, according to Sky sources.

There have been talks about Alves moving to City, but we understand there is still some way to go before an agreement is reached.

Alves moved to Italy on a free transfer from Barcelona last summer and he has one year left on his contract.

City need to sign full backs this summer after Pep Guardiola decided not to renew the contracts of Pablo Zabaletta, Bacary Sagna and Gael Clichy.

The Brazilian right back, 34, has worked with Guardiola before when they were both at Barcelona.
Guardiola is looking at other full-back options, including Benjamin Mendy (Monaco), Kyle Walker (Tottenham Hotspur) and Ryan Bertrand (Southampton).

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola could turn to Juventus' Dani Alves to strengthen his full-back options.

City do not have an experienced right-back after releasing out-of-contract duo Pablo Zabaleta and Bacary Sagna.

Guardiola has been linked with Tottenham's Kyle Walker but is understood to be considering whether to bid for 34-year-old Alves, who played for Juve in their Champions League final loss to Real Madrid on 3 June.

It is thought Juve want £5m for Alves.

Guardiola knows Alves well having brought the Brazil international to Barcelona from Sevilla for £23m in 2008.

The pair won three La Liga titles, two Spanish Cups and two Champions Leagues together before Guardiola left the Nou Camp in 2012.

Pep Guardiola has added Dani Alves to the list of four full backs he wants to sign this summer.

The Manchester City manager is determined to overhaul his defence - and identified the left and right back positions as priorities.

He believes the full back areas are so critical to his plans that he is ideally looking to sign two players in each position as he embarks on dual challenges in the Premier League and Champions League.

Alves, who he knows well from his time at Barcelona, could be available at a cut price £5m, with only one year to run on his contract at Juventus.

The 34-year-old Brazilian has been added to Guardiola’s wanted list, which also includes Kyle Walker, Benjamin Mendy and Ryan Bertrand.

City’s manager believes he needs four full backs in order to rotate what is a key position in his team.

After releasing Pablo Zabaleta, Gael Clichy and Bacary Sagna this summer, Guardiola knew a large part of his £300m budget would need to focus on replacements for that trio.

City have already signed Bernardo Silva and Ederson Moraes this summer for a combined fee of around £75m.

Juventus is ready to part ways with Dani Alves, following a meeting at the club on Monday between the defender's agents and the club's sporting director Beppe Marotta.
The likely possibility for Alves is a mutually agreed termination of his contract with Juventus.
