Manchester City re-sign goalkeeper Stuart Taylor
Goalkeeper Stuart Taylor has re-signed for Manchester City, nine days after being released by the Premiership side.Former Aston Villa keeper Taylor, 29, made one first-team appearance for City last term and missed the end of the season with a knee injury.
Having signed a two-year contract, Taylor joins Shay Given and Joe Hart in the battle to be City's number one.
Last season's first choice, Given, is currently working his way back to fitness after a dislocated shoulder.
With Given and Taylor both injured in April, and Hart on a season-long loan at Birmingham City, City manager Roberto Mancini was forced to draft in Marton Fulop on emergency loan from Sunderland as cover.
Taylor joined Manchester City in June 2009, having been signed by then-manager Mark Hughes as understudy to Ireland international Given
The former England Under-21 keeper spent four years at Villa and won a Premier League winner's medal during an eight-year spell with Arsenal.
