Manchester City are expected to open official talks with defender Dani Alves after Juventus confirmed he will be released from his contract.The 34-year-old Brazilian right back is looking to sign a two year deal with City once the Italians clear the cancellation of his deal with the Italian champions.
Speaking to Calciomercato.com and Mediaset Premium, Juventus chief executive Beppe Marotta said: 'It's not a breakdown of our rapport, as motivation is fundamental for a player.
'Dani Alves told us he wants to try an alternative experience, so we will terminate the contract by mutual consent and wish him all the best.
'Of course there is disappointment at what he said, but we confirm there was no split.'
