Captains - Essentially you can only make ONE change, once a player is locked.

You CAN change captains on the same day once the first game has finished.

For example I could go for Kane at 1pm Monday, then switch to Dumfries 4pm Monday.

But that would be my only switch for MD1.



Subs are similar - you can substitute a player on the same day within a matchday as long as they haven't played yet.

Boosters are as we expected.

If you use Power Captain, only the players in your XI will be considered for captaincy.

Transfers might be the most confusing part...

You can make transfers DURING a Matchday, you actually get 6 transfers in the groups, not the 3 that are on the website.

How deadlines work.

Importantly you will get transfers to use within the Matchday, I'm just clarifying how it will work in the knockouts.

Transfers:

Before matchday 1: Unlimited
When MD1 starts: 2 transfers
MD2 starts: 2 transfers
MD3 starts: 2 transfers
MD3 ends: unlimited
When RO16 starts: 4 transfers
When QF Starts: 5 transfers
When SF starts: 6 transfers
When Final Round starts: 6 transfers

From what I gather MD2 is now easily the best time to Wildcard.

You can activate it after MD1 finishes, change your team for MD2.

Then it's active until MD2 ends.

So in the final game for MD2 you could transfer out all your locked players, and the new players would be in MD3.

I'm wondering if it might make more sense to WC in the QFs.
Instead of only having 4 FTs to replace players who are knocked out in the L16, you'd get unlimited transfers during the QFs - up until kickoff of the last QF, so you can set your team up well for the SFs

The World Cup fantasy rules seem a bit too complicated for a game without any prizes. I'll still play it but I'm looking for a different free fantasy WC game that has decent prizes.

What's the best option for people living in the UK? Telegraph/Sky?
