Gonzalo Higuain admits that as a forward, he needs to improve his finishing.
The Argentine has had a decent eight months in Spain, having featured regularly for Capello towards the end of last season. He has lost his starting spot under Bernd Schuster, but remains calm.
"Schuster has told me that I can play on the right wing or even further up," he told Marca. "I'm ready to do whatever he asks.
"I don't mind playing along the wing, but I prefer being as withdrawn forward. You have to run and help out when playing for Madrid.
"Hard work is very much appreciated here. Playing poorly is also noticed."
Focusing on his own personal improvement, he admitted that he was looking to become more clinical at taking his chances: "People keep speaking about me not scoring. All forwards have bad streaks, but no one remembers the past when you're going through a good patch.
"Scoring is just another element that is worked on. I am going to stay calm this year because I had a lot of scoring chances last season and didn't finish them because I was in too much of a rush.
"I want to be more serene and feint the keeper; make him move. I'm working on that pause that top scorers have and being able to trick the goalkeeper.
"I've been given a lot of advice and told that I will grow as a player if I improve in that respect."
