Slobodan Rajkovic has become the fifth player to leave Chelsea for Hamburg this summer after signing a four-year deal with the Bundesliga club.
Rajkovic, 22, had been a Chelsea player since signing from OFK Belgrade in the summer of 2007 but he was never able to obtain a work permit to begin his career at Stamford Bridge.
The Serbia international spent successive loan spells with PSV Eindhoven, FC Twente and Vitesse Arnhem in the Dutch Eredivisie and played for Chelsea in pre-season.
However, he has now left the club to continue his career in Germany.
"Each player has the ambition to play, including me," he told Hamburg's official website. "I want to be successful with HSV.
"What I can promise is that I will always give my best to always be at 100 per cent for the team."
Hamburg sporting director Frank Arnesen has exploited his Chelsea connections to the full this summer with Rajkovic joining Jeffrey Bruma, Michael Mancienne, Gokhan Tore and Jacopo Sala in moving from West London.
