24-year-old attacking midfielder Abdel Barrada has joined Qatari side Al Rayyan, with Getafe receiving a bumper fee reported to be around ?10million for the player.Getafe owner Ángel Torres had during previous days stated that there were “
five offers on the table” for the player, including clubs from England and Russia. Resigned to the fact the player would be leaving this summer, Torres said that “the decision is up to him where he goes.”
The final decision of the player it now transpires, is destination Qatar,
after Al Rayyan presented the most lucrative offers to both Getafe and Barrada.
The French born Moroccan international originally joined Getafe from the youth system of PSG in 2010 and quickly worked his way into the first-team at the Spanish club. Continuing to make good progress and a key player with 32 appearances and 4 goals in La Liga last season,numerous clubs were tracking his performances.
