KOLN SIGN JAPAN INTERNATIONAL OSAKO 
Cologne - Bundesliga 2 champions 1. FC Koln have strengthened their attacking options ahead of the 2014/15 Bundesliga season by signing Japan international Yuya Osako from TSV 1860 Munich after activating a release clause in his contract.“I’ve decided to join Koln,” the 24-year-old said in a statement. “For me the Bundesliga is the best league in the world and I always aim to get better.
I’ve grown to love 1860. They welcomed me with open arms and treated me with great respect. I will never forget that.”
Track record Osako, who scored six goals and provided three assists for 1860 in 2013/14, is currently in Florida
with the Japanese national team preparing for the impending FIFA World Cup in Brazil, where the Samurai Blue will face Colombia, Greece and Ivory Coast in Group C.
“After making my decision I now feel relieved and can focus my full attention on the World Cup,” Osako added.
“We’d like to thank Yuya for the short but good time together at the Lions,” said 1860 sporting director Gerhard Poschner.
“We wish him all the best at the World Cup and in his future career.”

Transfer news: Japan striker Yuya Osako joins Cologne 
Japan striker Yuya Osako has joined newly-promoted Bundesliga side Cologne. The 24-year-old appeared in 15 games for second division side 1860 Munich last year, scoring six goals, but he will now make the leap to the German top flight.
Osako is currently with the Japan squad preparing for the World Cup and will link up with his new club once the tournament is over.
The terms of the move have not been disclosed."I am very happy to play in front of the fantastic fans in Cologne and I am sure that I can still improve myself in the Bundesliga,
being one of the best leagues in the world," Osako told Cologne's website.
"I would like to thank everybody in the club at 1860 Munich for their support.
Having taken this decision, I feel relieved and, as a result, I can fully concentrate on the World Cup."
