Serie A: Juventus suffer defeat again, Roma return to winning ways Last Updated: 26/09/15 10:23pm
Napoli ensured Juventus' miserable start to the Serie A season continued as they held on for a 2-1 victory at San Paolo Stadium on Saturday. Max Allegri's men, who now have just five points from six matches, could find themselves 13 adrift of Inter Milan should the current leaders beat Fiorentina on Sunday night. Napoli, who followed a 5-0 win against Lazio with a disappointing goalless draw with Carpi in midweek, deserved their victory, with goals from Lorenzo Insigne and Gonzalo Higuain securing the points.
Mario Lemina scored his first goal for the Bianconeri to offer hope but they rarely threatened an equaliser.
Elsewhere on Saturday, Roma returned to winning ways in Serie A with a 5-1 home thrashing of Carpi.
A first victory in three attempts was authored by Kostas Manolas, Miralem Pjanic and Gervinho in the first half, with Mohamed Salah and Lucas Digne making the points safe after the break.
Marco Borriello's consolation goal from a diving header did nothing to hurt his former employers and promoted Carpi remain winless.
