Crystal Palace racing to seal permanent transfer of Arsenal's Carl Jenkinson so he can play this weekendFull-back who spent a year on loan to new Eagles boss Sam Allardyce's West Ham is wanted for a reunion at Selhurst Park
Sam Allardyce is trying to rush through a permanent deal for Carl Jenkinson in time for this weekend. New Crystal Palace boss Allardyce is trying to negotiate a fee with Arsenal rather than a loan deal as he looks to bolster his defence. The two previously worked together at West Ham in season 2014-15, when Big Sam signed the England international full-back on a year's loan from the Gunners. Ironically, Palace face the Hammers this weekend as their fight against the drop continues.
Jenkinson returned in October from a nine-month absence with a knee injury which cut short a second season on loan at West Ham, but has not played since struggling in November's EFL Cup loss to Southampton.
Watford, Aston Villa, Swansea and the Hammers have all been linked with the 24-year-old, who has 18 months left on his deal at Arsenal.
