Carabao Cup holders Manchester United will face Bristol City in the quarter-finals of the competition, while Arsenal take on West Ham. United comfortably defeated Swansea 2-0 on Tuesday night to set up a tie against the Robins at Ashton Gate.
Bristol City, the only club left in the competition from outside the Premier League, progressed to the last eight courtesy of a 4-1 win over Crystal Palace.
West Ham will travel to Arsenal in the quarter-final stage after coming from two goals down to defeat Tottenham on Wednesday night. Five-time winners Chelsea host Bournemouth in another all-Premier League tie, after surviving a late scare against Everton in round four. The Cherries progressed to the last eight of the competition for only the second time in their history following a 3-1 win over Middlesbrough at the Vitality Stadium.
Meanwhile, Premier League leaders Manchester City will take on Leicester at the King Power Stadium, after edging past Championship side Wolves on penalties following a goalless draw at the Etihad on Tuesday. The Foxes, who recently appointed Claude Puel as Craig Shakespeare's permanent successor, secured their place in the last eight after beating Leeds 3-1 at home earlier this week.
All four quarter-final ties are scheduled to be played on December 19 or 20.
The draw, which was conducted by Rugby World Cup winner Matt Dawson and former England cricketer Phil Tufnell, experienced technical difficulties and was delayed for two hours before a pre-recorded video was released announcing the results.
The EFL released a statement apologising for the delay which was blamed on a "faulty encoder".
The statement read: "The EFL would like to apologise for a number of third party technical issues that affected coverage of today's previously advertised Carabao Cup Round Five live draw at Twitter HQ.
"The EFL has received an apology from Twitter UK for the delay which is believed to have occurred as a result of a faulty encoder. The EFL has requested a full explanation into the events that led to this afternoon's unacceptable delay."
A Twitter spokesman added: "We're sorry for the issues that led to the delay of today's Round Five draw. We would also like to apologise to the thousands of supporters who had been patiently awaiting news of who their team would be playing.
"The draw had been scheduled to go live at 4pm UK time but in the end the draw was pre-recorded and published to @Carabao_Cup Twitter channel at 5.45pm.
"The ties drawn are as follows and will be played week commencing 18 December."
