Watford Football Club has parted company with Marco Silva.

This has been a difficult decision and one not taken lightly. The Club is convinced the appointment of Silva was the right one and had it not been for the unwarranted approach by a Premier League rival for his services we would have continued to prosper under his leadership.

The catalyst for this decision is that unwarranted approach, something which the Board believes has seen a significant deterioration in both focus and results to the point where the long-term future of Watford FC has been jeopardised.

For the security and success of the football club, the Board believes it has to make a change.

The Club will seek to make a swift appointment and there will be no further comment until that appointment has been made.

MORE ON SILVA'S SACKING

Sky sources understand that Marco Silva wanted to go to Everton in November and that Farhad Moshiri approached Gino Pozzo in person to ask about taking him to Goodison Park.

That approach was rebuffed but the club have been concerned by poor results since and discussions over his future have been under discussion for several weeks.

Furthermore, Sky sources understand that Watford already have a new manager lined up and that he will be a newcomer to English football.

馬高施華（Marco Silva）被炒後，外界有不少意見，其中去夏加盟的巴西球員李察利臣（Richarlison），被發現球會公佈新聞後不久，在社交網絡Twitter發表「嬲」的表情符號，相信他個人對於球會的決定，感到失望。事實上李察利臣加盟後表現突出，至今交出5個入球和6次助攻，盛傳阿仙奴和車路士都對這名20歲翼鋒感興趣。

屈福特在英國周日宣佈辭退領隊馬高施華， 球會發表的聲明表示：「屈福特決定與馬高施華分道揚鑣，這是一個艱難的決定，並不容易。球會相信當初聘用馬高施華是正確的決定，如果不是另一間敵對英超球會的做法，我們相信在馬高施華的領導下，球會將繼續繁榮。」

「那間英超球會的做法，成為了辭退決定的催化劑，因為董事會相信球會的專注度和戰績都顯著惡化，令屈福特的長遠發展受到損害。為了球會邁向成功，董事會相信是時候作出改變。屈福特會盡快作出聘用新領隊的安排，直至聘用之前，球會都不會再作出任何評論。」

據英國《BBC》報道，班主Pozzo家族公開指責的球會是愛華頓，事關後者在去年11月辭退領隊朗奴高文後，曾公開表示希望聘任馬高施華，而此舉令班主Pozzo家族對馬高施華失去信任。

Watford FC is delighted to announce the appointment of Javi Gracia as the club’s new Head Coach.

The experienced 47-year-old, who has signed an 18-month contact with the Hornets, has previously coached clubs in his native Spain as well as Greece and Russia.

During two seasons with Málaga he achieved back-to-back top-10 La Liga finishes, famously defeating eventual Champions League and Spanish champions Barcelona at the Camp Nou in February 2015.

The following campaign his Málaga side went unbeaten against both Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid on their way to an impressive eighth-place 2015/16 finish.

Having started his senior coaching career in 2007 with Segunda División B outfit Pontevedra, Gracia secured promotion to the Spanish second-tier with Cádiz before spells in Greece with Olympiakos Volou and Kerkyra.

In 2012/13 he once again masterminded a promotion campaign, this time returning Almería to the Spanish top-flight before stints with Osasuna and Russian Premier League club Rubin Kazan either side of his Málaga stay.

As a player, former Spain Under-21 international Gracia was a vastly experienced defensive midfielder who featured prominently for the likes of Real Sociedad and Villarreal.
