Newcastle have this evening agreed a fee with Leicester for the sale of Ayoze Perez.

Sky Sports News understands Leicester have a deal in place to buy the Spaniard for £30m subject to a medical and personal terms being agreed.

Newcastle United have agreed a £30million fee for Ayoze Perez with Leicester City.

The Toon striker will leave the club if he passes a medical and agrees personal terms.

The Chronicle understands that United have found the offer too good to refuse but the money will be ploughed back into the transfer kitty for the next manager.

Perez has finished as United’s top scorer for the last two seasons and entered the club’s all-time top 10 Premier League scorer chart.

The former Tenerife man cost United just £1.6million after impressing in the Segunda Division and has netted 48 goals in all competitions for the club.

Leicester also expect to sign Perez in the next 48 hours, with the Spanish forward undergoing a medical at the club’s training ground on Wednesday.

Rodgers has moved for Perez to offer further support and competition for Jamie Vardy, in a deal which will be perceived as another huge blow to Newcastle’s supporters.

Perez will cost a fee of around £30m, which was his release clause at Newcastle, and personal terms will be a formality.

Leicester have already signed Luton defender James Justin for an initial £6m and are also considering a move for a winger.

Ayoze Perez: Leicester City sign Newcastle striker for £30m

Leicester City have signed striker Ayoze Perez from Newcastle United for £30m on a four-year deal.

Perez, 25, leaves St James' Park after five years. The Spaniard was the club's top scorer in 2018-19 with 12 goals.

He is Foxes manager Brendan Rodgers' second signing of the summer, following the arrival of defender James Justin from Luton Town.

"Ayoze will be a wonderful addition to the squad. He's a player who will excite our fans," Rodgers said.

"He's quick, has a good eye for goal and he's experienced in the Premier League too."

Perez, who was bought from Tenerife for £1.5m in June 2014, has scored 48 times in 195 appearances for Newcastle and got the winning goal on each of his previous two visits to King Power Stadium.

"I'm very happy and very pleased. I'm very proud to be part of the Leicester family and I can't wait to get started," said Perez.

The Magpies are currently without a manager following the departure of Rafael Benitez at the end of June for Chinese Super League side Dalian Yifang.
