Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that United's injury list is finally shortening, with Owen Hargreaves set to face Middlesbrough and Michael Carrick and Louis Saha in contention for next weekend's trip to Arsenal.
The United manager also announced that club captain Gary Neville is ready to make his long-awaited comeback, as soon as he has posted some much-needed playing time for the Reserves.
There is no news as yet on Paul Scholes, who will be sent for a second scan on his knee on Monday. The midfielder suffered the injury when he turned in training before the Reds' midweek win over Dynamo Kyiv.
Should Scholes face a spell on the sidelines, the return of Hargreaves from a persistent knee injury and Carrick from a broken elbow will be highly welcomed.
Hargreaves has been out of action since the Reds' victory against Sunderland on September 1, but is now ready to return - although Sir Alex warned that he will not play a full match against Boro.
Patrice Evra, who tweaked a calf muscle in the Ukraine, could also be available for the Teessiders' visit.
