Arsenal are set to face competition from Fiorentina in the race to sign Bologna goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano, according to reports in Italy.
Arsene Wenger is in the market for a top keeper as question marks continue to hang over the Arsenal futures of Manuel Almunia and Lukasz Fabianski.
And Italian daily Tuttosport has claimed that Fiorentina and the Gunners are tracking 24-year-old penalty expert Viviano, who is co-owned by Inter Milan after leaving the San Siro last summer.
Meanwhile, newly promoted Leeds United want to take Gunners keeper Wojciech Szczesny on loan next season.
The 6ft 5in Polish international, who earned his first full cap against Canada last year aged 19, has been impressive on loan at Brentford.
He turned in a man-of-the-match performance against promoted Leeds, and Simon Grayson wants him to replace the released Casper Ankergren.
