Freidrich seals Wolfsburg switchWolfsburg have confirmed the signing of Germany defender Arne Friedrich from Hertha Berlin.
Hertha's relegation to the 2.Bundesliga last season meant Friedrich became available and Wolfsburg were quick to make their move ahead of a number of clubs across Europe, who were alerted by his fine performances at the World Cup.
Friedrich, 31, has signed a three-year deal at the Volkswagen Arena after joining the 2009 Bundesliga champions for a reported fee of two million.
"We are glad that Arne has decided to join us and that this issue has now been dealt with," Wolfsburg's managing director Dieter Hoeness said.
"He is currently proving his class with the national team. Arne will not only do our team good since he is an experienced and strong-performing player, but also with his personality. He will certainly help us to stabilise our defence."
