Newly promoted Spanish Primera Division side Real Sociedad have signed former Espanyol striker Raul Tamudo on a free transfer for one season, the Basque giants announced in a club statement.Tamudo has signed a contract that will last until June 30, 2011. The 32-year-old departed from Catalan club Espanyol at the end of the 2009-10 campaign after spending his previous entire footballing career with the Barcelona-based club.
The former Spain international forward will be officially presented by la Real at noon and will subsequently travel with his new team-mates to Austria. Tamudo joins fellow Spanish striker Joseba Llorente at the Anoeta as this summer's another major signing for the former two-time Spanish champions.
