Skysports.com understands Blackburn Rovers are lining up a loan move for Manchester United striker Mame Biram Diouf.
The Senegal international signed for United last year from Molde before eventually linking up with the Premier League club in January.
He made six substitute appearances in the second half of last season and scored his first goal for the club against Burnley.
Diouf has been involved in United's pre-season preparations, but the 22-year-old may be allowed out on loan to build up his experience of English football.
The signing of Javier Hernandez has only increased competition for a place in the United attack and Sir Alex Ferguson may feel a loan move would benefit Diouf.
Blackburn are in the market for striking reinforcements and are considering a bid to bring Diouf to Ewood Park before the close of the transfer window.
Chairman John Williams confirmed on Monday that the club had made a bid for a striker, with Portsmouth's John Utaka understood to be the subject of that offer.
