Brazilian club Fluminense have announced the signing of Chelsea midfielder Deco on a two-year contract and he will be presented as the club's new player on Monday.
Deco, 32, has long been expected to return to Brazil and joins Joe Cole, Belletti and Michael Ballack in leaving Stamford Bridge this summer.
The Blues were looking to lower the average age of their squad and Deco, who represents Portugal at international level, has been allowed to return to the country of his birth.
A Chelsea statement read: "The midfielder, 32, agreed terms this evening [Saturday] and was allowed to leave the club last week on compassionate grounds to discuss the deal. We wish Deco and his family well in the future, and thank him for his service to Chelsea."
Fluminense vice-president Alcides Antunes confirmed the signing of Deco on Saturday evening. The player began his career with Brazilian club Corinthians before moving to Benfica in 1997.
Deco had earlier told O Globo: "Chelsea have chosen not to speak to the press until the end of negotiations. All I am waiting on is a fax to close the deal with Fluminense."
Deco joined Chelsea from Barcelona in the summer of 2008 and won two FA Cups and one Premier League title with the Blues.
