Tottenham star Gareth Bale ruled out for two weeks with recurrence of back injury
Specialist advises wing-back to rest after Newcastle setback
Tottenham have been dealt a blow with news that a recurrence of Gareth Bale's persistent back injury has ruled him out of action for the next two weeks.
Bale has been struggling with a niggling injury for the past few weeks and he has been advised by a specialist to rest.
The Wales winger came off after just nine minutes of the clash with Newcastle at the weekend and it was initially feared that he would require corrective surgery.
But Harry Redknapp has received the news that the 21-year-old, who has played in every Barclays Premier League game this season, is only likely to sit out the next three matches.
Spurs travel to west London for a fourth round FA Cup clash with Fulham on Sunday, followed by league encounters with Blackburn and Bolton. The north Londoners hope their joint top scorer will return for the trip to Sunderland on February 12, three days ahead of the Champions League clash with AC Milan at San Siro.
