Mihajlovic snubs Inter
Sinisa Mihajlovic is adamant he will remain Fiorentina coach despite being approached by Inter Milan. The former Inter player is seen by the club as the preferred candidate to replace Leonardo if the Brazilian leaves in the summer as rumoured.
The Serbian also served an apprenticeship under Roberto Mancini as assistant coach at the San Siro from 2006 to 2008.
The 42-year-old was quick to quash any rumours when he met with the press and insisted that he is very happy with the Viola outfit.
"I have wanted to do this press conference to reiterate my will to remain in Florence," he said.
"Inter's entourage have contacted me but I have spoken to (Fiorentina sporting director Pantaleo) Corvino telling him that I want to remain in Florence for many seasons.
"The club has treated me well and everyone that works and plays in the club are serious and motivated."Perhaps some people would be disappointed with my decision but I am happy to remain in Florence and I hope to stay here for many years to come.
"I hope that after two statements and a press conference, I have made my position clear."
