Agree, really cool when I watched it live on TV. Kind of weird that both Hyypia and Carragher are center defenders. But almost everytime it was Hyypia who headed the ball away. Really there were no advantage at all if teams plan to use high-ball tactic against Liverpool nowadays. We are so good at intercepting high balls and setting offside traps!
One of the main reason for our good defensive record I think is we start defending up in the midfield. The players are instructed to start closing down passes and make tackles early on. It's been rather effective especially with Sissoko's presence. Crazy tackler who makes successful tackles more often than not.
We just need to becareful that we're not overdoing it. The Viduka's breakaway in the 1st half and McFadden's chance in the 2nd half Everton game were direct result of our players rushing too far up and failed to take away the ball. But in all it was some amazing team work that's been shown in the past few games. Even Morientes is starting to run after the balls!
