Milan to shun PSG bid
Italians vow to keep prized Brazil defender Thiago Silva
AC Milan chief Adriano Galliani says that club president Silvio Berlusconi has instructed him to reject Paris St Germain's offer for Thiago Silva.
Milan have been holding talks with PSG over the past few days over the proposed sale of Silva - in a deal worth in excess of £40million - which would be a world record for a defender.
Silva was also believed to be in Paris waiting for permission to undergo a medical, but now after returning to Italy, Galliani has revealed that the club look set to keep hold of the Brazil defender.
"(AC Milan owner Silvio) Berlusconi intends to resist all offers from PSG for Thiago Silva," Galliani said to Sky Italia.
No agreementPSG sporting director Leonardo, who coached AC Milan in the 2009-10 campaign, said to Sky Italia: "There is no agreement.
"Many details have not been defined but this is normal considering the type of deal we are talking about.
"We will wait and see but I don't think the negotiations will take very long."
Silva joined AC Milan in December 2008 from Fluminense.
Leonardo also talked about other PSG business and confirmed they are closing on Ezequiel Lavezzi.
"Talks about Ezequiel Lavezzi have not been finalised yet," he said.
"The transfer market is opened until September 4th, so there is no emergency.
"Gonzalo Higuain? There is nothing with him, and nothing with Zlatan Ibrahimovic either. Daniel Alves and Maicon? It is just the same, there is nothing with them. We are focused on Thiago Silva and Lavezzi."
