SCHAAF NAMED NEW EINTRACHT FRANKFURT COACH Frankfurt - Eintracht Frankfurt have appointed Thomas Schaaf as their new head coach on a two-year deal.The 53-year-old replaces Armin Veh, who stepped down at the end of the 2013/14 campaign before joining VfB Stuttgart on 12 May.
Bremen blueprintSchaaf has been out of the footballing picture since calling time on a
memorable 14-year stint at former club SV Werder Bremen in 2013, with whom he
famously lifted the Bundesliga title in 2004, as well as the DFB Cup in 1999, 2004 and 2009. The Mannheim native also took the Green-Whites to the semi-finals and final of the now defunct UEFA Cup in 2007 and 2009 respectively.
Prior to that, Schaaf's Bremen twice reached the last-16 of the UEFA Champions League (2005 and 2006).
Eintracht's new head honcho will be officially unveiled to the press on Wednesday afternoon (12:30 GMT/ 14:30 CET).
