Papiss Cisse could still leave Newcastle before the transfer window shuts - according to his agentPapiss Cisse could still quit Newcastle United before the transfer window slams shut on Tuesday night – IF the No 9 gets the right offer. The Magpies have made it clear they do not want to sell Cisse during the summer transfer window. It is believed that bids from an unnamed club in China and offers from the cash-laden UAE Arabian Gulf League have been turned down this year for Cisse. But the striker’s agent Madou Diene says that the Senegal international is frustrated by the lack of first-team chances and service at Newcastle.
Cisse has been linked with a move to Galatasaray, but Cisse’s agent has told the Sunday Sun there is nothing on the table at the moment.
Diene said ahead of the window’s closure: “If the right offer comes I will ask Papiss to consider it.
“Nobody wants to be at a club where you don’t feel wanted.”Reports in Turkey yesterday said that Newcastle had slapped a £5.5m price tag on Cisse, but Diene said:
“There has been no offer from Galatasaray yet, it is only talk in the media.“But there has been nothing concrete.
“Perhaps if there was it would be considered because at Papiss’ age he wants to play regular football.“No matter which team he plays for he needs service because he will score goals.
“During his time at Newcastle, he’s never had proper service which makes his goal tally even more remarkable.”
Cisse, 30, could get the chance in Steve McClaren’s team in their next clash at West Ham next month after Aleksandar Mitrovic was sent off against Arsenal, meaning he will serve a three-game ban.
The Toon striker – who is eight goals short of half-a-century at Newcastle – will have 18 months left of his current deal from January. And even if he does stay at United, Diene said the Magpies will benefit from his presence as long as he plays.
He said: “As long as Papiss is here he will score goals. He can’t do that if he’s sitting on the bench.”
