Delhi Dynamos have confirmed the appointment of Roberto Carlos as their head coach for the next edition of the Indian Super League (ISL). The Delhi based franchise finished fifth last season in the competition, missing the semi final spots by just a single point under the guidance of Belgian coach Harm Van Veldhoven.
Carlos's announcement certainly becomes one of the biggest signings of the coming ISL season, with the Brazilian full-back having achieved great heights in his career.
The 42-year old has won the FIFA World Cup, UEFA Champions League, La Liga, Copa America and was widely considered as one of the finest defenders to grace the footballing field.
The former Real Madrid defender was last seen playing with Russian side Anzhi following which he anounced his retirement.
Carlos joins Dynamos with some managerial experience as well having worked with Anzhi as an interim manager and with Turkish side Sivasspor in the Super Liga. At the start of the year he was appointed the manager of Turkish side Akhisar Belediyespor.
