Manchester United fall below City in UEFA's latest rankings as club pay for lack of Champions League football last season

• Manchester United slip to 20th in UEFA rankings, Manchester City 16th
• United still in pot 2 for Champions League this season despite slip
• Coefficients are taken from end of last season
• If United struggle this season they could be handed tough draw next year  

Manchester United have fallen below great rivals Manchester City in UEFA's latest club coefficient rankings.
With the Red Devils missing out on European football last season they fell to 20th place in the rankings, four places below their neighbours.
United will play a two-legged play-off match this month, though their standings in the pots for the Champions League group stages will be unchanged.
The coefficients UEFA take are from the end of last season and take the previous five seasons in the competition into consideration.
That means United's run to the Champions League final in 2010-11 counts, and Louis van Gaal's side will be drawn in pot 2, alongside the likes of Real Madrid.
United have 103.078 points in that format, more than Valencia and Bayer Leverkusen, who will also line up in a play-off match.
Their standing for next season's competition could be in danger should they falter this year though.
United didn't collect any points last season, meaning the likes of Borussia Dortmund, Schalke, Napoli, Bayer Leverkusen, Valencia and Basle are all now placed above them in the table.
Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Barcelona top the rankings table, while Chelsea lie in fourth.

根據最新公佈的歐洲足協（UEFA）系數排名，曼聯的排名現時已經下跌至第20位，比同市宿敵曼城低4位。
英超球隊當中，排名最高的是第4位的車路士，其次則是第7位的阿仙奴，
不過，由於UEFA今季改制，令歐洲球壇排名1至7位的七個國家聯賽冠軍，加上衛冕球隊自動成為歐聯第一級別種籽，
故兵工廠雖然排在第7位，但車路士已經躋身第一級別種籽，令阿仙奴肯定只能成為第二級別種籽。
UEFA系數是以五個球季的統計作為基準，故最新數字是由2011/12球季開始計算。

華倫入種籽第二檔 並列馬德里雙雄

華倫西亞成為其中一支從歐聯附加賽，晉身分組賽的隊伍。由於今年的歐聯種籽制度有改變，主要聯賽冠軍可以成為第一檔次種籽，故皇家馬德里及馬德里體育會的系數雖然高，但只能列第二檔次，而華倫西亞亦會列入第二檔次，與阿仙奴、曼城等同等級。至於另一西甲球隊西維爾，會否列入第二檔次，則視乎曼聯及利華古遜今晚的可否晉級。

今屆歐聯種籽第一檔次的球隊已經定出，包括巴塞隆拿、車路士、拜仁慕尼黑、賓菲加、巴黎聖日耳門、祖雲達斯、辛尼特及燕豪芬。
