Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink will be appointed head coach of Queens Park Rangers on Friday, according to Sky sources.It is understood that talks with club officials on Thursday were positive and a compensation figure has been agreed with Burton Albion. The Dutchman has been linked with a switch to QPR following the departure of Chris Ramsey on November 4.
Hasselbaink's assistant, David Oldfield, at the Pirelli Stadium will join him at Loftus Road.
Prior to QPR's match at Reading, caretaker-boss Neil Warnock confirmed he was picking the team for the last time, although Hasselbaink is not believed to be at the Madejski Stadium for the game.
The Dutchman enjoyed a successful career as a striker with a number of clubs, including Leeds, Chelsea and Middlesbrough, as well as the Netherlands, and was given his first job in management by Belgian second division side Royal Antwerp.
Hasselbaink left in May 2014 before taking over at Burton in November of the same year after Gary Rowett departed to join Birmingham.
The 43-year-old guided the Brewers to promotion from League Two last season and they sit top of League One going into these weekend's fixtures.Hasselbaink will be tasked with reigniting QPR's promotion push, with the R's currently occupying a mid-table position in the Championship.
