Krul is training again after a knee injury and should be fit for the start of September.
The keeper is on around £60,000 per week and Newcastle will have to subsidise part of his salary while his is with Ajax. Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez said: 'He has one year left on his contract and we have five keepers are the moment, he’s coming back from injury, training hard and improving.
'We have Sels now, we have Darlow and we have Woodman so we can’t keep five keepers for the whole season.'

His ability to speak the language and slot in to the Ajax side immediately will surely have played a part in the move as the goalkeepers' merry-go-round is in full flow.
