Nolito wants to leave Manchester City due to weather and lack of games

Manchester City forward Nolito has reaffirmed his desire to leave the Etihad after failing to settle to life in England.

Nolito has scored just four goals for City and has not started a Premier League match this year since joining from Celta Vigo 11 months ago for £13.8m.

The 30-year-old has lost his place in the Spain squad while his family have struggled to adjust to the weather in the north east of England.

"I am under the contract, so the club will decide, but I want to leave," Nolito told Spanish radio station El Transistor. "I haven't played in six months. I will do everything possible to make Spain's World Cup squad.

"I have learnt very, very little English - it's very hard. Just 'tomorrow', 'good morning', 'good afternoon' and a little more."

Nolito was born in Andalusia and has been reportedly linked with a move to the region's capital Sevilla.

On Tuesday, he was photographed alongside the club's sporting director Oscar Arias in a café in the city, but Nolito has insisted the meeting was purely coincidental.

"I was just casually shopping for clothes for my wife in Seville," he said. "I went to get a coffee and bumped into Sevilla's director of football casually."

NOLITO NEARING CITY END

Nolito’s time at Manchester City looks to be coming to an end, after the player was pictured speaking to Sevilla’s Sporting Director.

Sky Sports News HQ understands Sevilla are one of a number of clubs looking to bring Nolito back to La Liga.

The Spain international was highly-regarded when he joined City last summer for £13.8 m but, he fell out of favour in the second-half of the season and is now likely to move back to his homeland.

Sky sources are telling us Sevilla are hoping to take him on loan, although we understand City will only entertain permanent offers for a player they value at up to £12m.

SEVILLA CLOSE ON NOLITO

Sevilla president Jose Castro has given an update on the club's pursuit of Manchester City's Nolito.

"When we talk about top players, we can not say things are done, but we are advancing with some players and one of them is Nolito," he told Radio Sevilla.

"We are getting into the position so he can play with Sevilla."

Manchester City are insisting they only want to sell Nolito amid claims Sevilla are close to agreeing a loan move for the striker.
Sportsmail reported earlier this month that City value the 30-year-old at £10million after fending off competition from Barcelona to sign him last summer. He is under contract until 2020.
'When you talk about top players you can't say that the deal is done but it's true that we have taken a step forward for Nolito to play at Sevilla,' club president Jose Castro told Cadena Ser Radio Sevilla.
'I think we are getting closer to reaching an understanding to see a player of Nolito's calibre play here after Manchester City paid ?18 million for him last summer.'
Spanish media believe Sevilla have proposed a loan with view to a £7m purchase option. However, City do not want to loan him and are pushing for a fee to be agreed up front.
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has confirmed talks with Manchester City over the prospective purchase of Eliaquim Mangala.
'Eliaquim Mangala is among our options,' Aulas said. 'He came to meet us. It is proof of a clear interest when a player takes the initiative to come and see the president of a club in which he wants to play.

Sevilla announce they have reached an agreement with Manchester City to sign Nolito and he will undergo a medical tomorrow.

He is set to sign a three-year deal with the La Liga club.
