Joachim Löw names Germany squad for UEFA Euro 2020

Joachim Löw has named his Germany squad for this summer's rescheduled UEFA European Championships.

Löw has selected a 26-player squad instead of the usual 23, with UEFA allowing a squad increase to lessen the load on players after a club season truncated by the coronavirus pandemic.

As a result, the Germany coach has named the following players in his squad for Euro 2020:

Goalkeepers: Manuel Neuer, Bernd Leno, Kevin Trapp

Defenders: Robin Koch, Antonio Rüdiger, Marcel Halstenberg, Lukas Klostermann, Christian Günter, Mats Hummels, Robin Gosens, Matthias Ginter, Niklas Süle

Midfielders: Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka, Kai Havertz, Thomas Müller, Toni Kroos, Jamal Musiala, Emre Can, Jonas Hofmann, Florian Neuhaus, Ilkay Gündogan, Leroy Sane

Forwards: Kevin Volland, Timo Werner, Serge Gnabry

Joachim Löw on Kevin Volland: "We have seen what he has achieved in France this season. With his strong physique, he can certainly enrich us."

Joachim Löw on Mats Hummels' return: "He is a player who has a good influence on players & who has tournament experience."

Joachim Löw: "A successful tournament is paramount. That is why we brought Hummels & Müller back. In terms of leadership, they can give the team a lot."

Joachim Löw: "For us, every game is going to be a knockout tie, especially the opener vs France. It will be important to get out of the group and try and establish a rhythm."

【Now Sports】德國國家隊周三公佈歐國盃大軍，前鋒湯馬士梅拿、中堅侯姆斯重返陣營。
德國主帥路維為了換血，宣佈不再徵召3位老將湯馬士梅拿（Thomas Muller）、中堅謝路美保定和侯姆斯。由於近年戰績平平，加上3人在球會仍然有出色表現，路維決定低頭，在今夏歐國盃的26人名單中再次選入梅拿、侯姆斯，但仍然棄用保定。

梅拿、侯姆斯對上一次披上德國戰衣已經是2018年11月19日的事，前者在Twitter興奮地表示：「回來了！」

大軍之中，門將達史迪根因傷落選，前鋒馬高列奧斯則棄戰，中場卻奧斯、甘美治、前鋒添姆雲拿、翼鋒拿比、辛尼等主力球員悉數入選。效力摩納哥的前鋒奇雲科蘭，拜仁慕尼黑年輕前鋒穆斯亞拿令人意外地獲徵召，但多蒙特翼鋒祖利安白蘭治、巴黎聖日耳門翼鋒戴斯拿落選。
