Vincenzo Montella Appointed New Roma Coach As Claudio Ranieri Is Replaced- Report
Vincenzo Montella will be Roma's new coach until the end of term after taking over from Claudio Ranieri.
Montella arrived at Trigoria on Monday morning to discuss his terms with the club.
And while an official announcement is pending, Sky Sport Italia reports Montella has been chosen to lead the players forward.
The Italian welcomed the idea of taking over until the end of the season during the meeting with Rosella Sensi.
Ranieri resigned on Sunday evening, and he was seen leaving Trigoria just before Montella arrived this morning.
The former striker, 36, is expected to be unveiled on Tuesday.
As coach of the under 15 side, Montella currently earns ?500,000 per annum and his deal runs until 2012, but details over his switch to first team coach are undisclosed.
Update, 13:55CET: Roma confirm Ranieri resignation officially.
A statement released by the club reads: "Roma communicate to have received a request to resign as first team coach from Claudio Ranieri.
"In light of this, his contract, due to expire on June 30, 2011 has been resolved following a consensual agreement. Roma would like to thank Claudio Ranieri for his work during his time at the helm."
