Norwich have signed striker James Vaughan from Everton on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.
Vaughan scored nine times during a loan spell with Crystal Palace this season as the London side avoided relegation - and Norwich City boss Paul Lambert hopes the player can boost their hopes of staying in the Premier League next term.
Vaughan has agreed personal terms and passed a medical. He will sign a contract that will cost the East Anglian side an estimated £2.5 million.
Palace was keen to land Vaughan on a permanent deal, but chairman Steve Parish conceded it would have been difficult to challenge Norwich's bid for the player.
Vaughan had one year of his Everton deal to run and becomes Norwich's first signing of the summer. He remains the Premier League's youngest goalscorer having netted on his Everton debut in 2005.
"He's someone who fits in with the group in the sense that he's hungry to do well and has great desire," said former Celtic and Scotland midfielder Lambert.
"He's already shown great potential as a young player with Everton and when I have seen him playing for them and for Crystal Palace I have always thought he was a threat in and around the box."
