Transfer news: Liverpool target Divock Origi has offers 'from all over Europe'



Lille striker Divock Origi has confirmed that he has a number of offers, but insists that he has yet to decide his future.

The 19-year-old was part of the 23-man Belgium squad that reached the quarter-finals of the World Cup in Brazil.

The teenager was impressive for the Red Devils in the tournament, as he scored one goal in five appearances for his country.

Origi, who had 82 per cent of his shots on target in the tournament, scored five goals in 12 Ligue 1 starts for Lille last season.

Liverpool are in advanced talks with Lille over a £10million deal for Origi, who has now stated that he has yet to decide which club he will join next season.

"I myself am still thinking about it,” the Liverpool Echo quotes him as saying. "It is true that there are offers from all over Europe.

“Now I have to look carefully where I will grow as a player and as a person. I think it will be clearer, within two weeks at the most."

Belgium striker Divock Origi has held talks with Liverpool over a proposed move to Anfield but a deal still remains some way off.

The 19-year-old, who impressed at the World Cup, is understood to have met Reds officials and manager Brendan Rodgers
at the club's Melwood training ground on Wednesday but negotiations are continuing and as yet no medical has been scheduled.

A fee, believed to amount to about £10m in total, has already been agreed with his club Lille but a reported approach from Tottenham may yet prove a stumbling block.

However, Liverpool's interest has been long-standing and they remain in pole position to secure the services of the talented youngster.

Origi was non-committal on his future when asked during an event in his home town of Houthalen-Helchteren staged to recognise his performances in Brazil.

"I myself am still thinking about it," he said. "It is true that there are offers from all over Europe.

Now I have to look carefully where I will grow as a player and as a person.

"I think things will be clearer within two weeks at the most."

The transfer of Benfica winger Lazar Markovic is much more advanced with the Serbia international expected on Merseyside in the next 36 hours to finalise his move.

Having triggered the 20-year-old's release clause of £20m, Markovic is heading to Merseyside for a medical and is likely to become manager Rodgers'

fourth signing of the summer after Southampton duo Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana and Bayer Leverkusen's Emre Can.

Transfer news: Rene Girard expects Liverpool target Divock Origi to be at Lille next season



Lille boss Rene Girard insists that Divock Origi will be with the club next season, despite the Belgian striker expected to join Liverpool.

The 19-year-old, who is understood to have been in advanced talks over a proposed £10million switch to Anfield,

caught the eye while representing Belgium at the World Cup this summer as he netted once in five outings for Marc Wilmots’ side.

Reports have suggested that Origi would be loaned back to the Ligue 1 outfit to gain regular first-team football should he make the move,

and Girard is expecting to see the academy product at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy for the new campaign one way or another.

"Divock Origi will be here (at Lille) this season," he told reporters.

Brendan Rodgers has already added four new faces to his squad this summer in the shape of Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana, Emre Can and Lazar Markovic,

while chief executive Ian Ayre has confirmed that the club will continue build their squad amid the departure of Luis Suarez to Barcelona.

Origi is widely expected to be the Reds' fifth summer signing, although Swansea duo Wilfried Bony

and Ben Davies have also both been linked with moves ahead of Liverpool's Champions League return.
