Fraizer Campbell has joined Crystal Palace on a three-year contract.
The London side triggered the forward's release clause at Cardiff, believed to be around £900,000, along with Premier League rivals Leicester City.
However, Campbell, 26, has decided to join the Eagles and bring to an end an 18-month stint in south Wales.
The fee for the one-time England international, who scored nine goals as Cardiff were relegated last season, could rise to close to £1m.
Palace have so far been quiet in the transfer market following their
impressive return to the Premier League last season, with Blackpool goalkeeper Chris Kettings the only permanent arrival.
Newly-promoted Leicester are looking to bolster their strike force ahead of their return to the top flight, and have already secured Brighton forward Leonardo Ulloa for £8m.

Crystal Palace have agreed fees for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson and Cardiff City striker Fraizer Campbell, Sky sources understand.

Eagles boss Tony Pulis has stepped up his search for new faces after returning from a training camp in Austria and is hoping to pull off an ambitious double signing.

Campbell could not prevent Cardiff from suffering relegation in 2013/14, despite scoring nine goals, but is set for a swift return to the Premier League.

Reports suggest there is a £600,000 release clause for the 26-year-old, although Palace still have to agree wages with the former Manchester man and Sigurdsson.

Campbell's Cardiff team-mate Steven Caulker has also been linked with a move to Selhurst Park,

but Queens Park Rangers and Southampton are believed to have joined the race for the centre-back's signature.

Cardiff City striker Fraizer Campbell is to have a medical at Crystal Palace later on Wednesday, according to Sky sources.

Campbell had held transfer talks with Leicester City but the move fell through and the 26-year-old now appears to be on the verge of joining Tony Pulis in south London.

Reports claimed the former Manchester United striker had a £600,000 release clause in his contract which Palace and Leicester have both triggered.

Campbell could not prevent Cardiff from suffering relegation in 2013/14, despite scoring nine goals, but he is now set for a swift return to the Premier League.

Campbell's Cardiff team-mate Steven Caulker has already left the club after joining Queens Park Rangers for £8.5million a

nd City boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already resigned himself to losing his star players following relegation.
