Lazar Markovic is undergoing a medical at Liverpool as they close in on a deal to sign the winger from Benfica. The fee for the 20-year-old is believed to be £20m and the move could be completed in the next 24 hours.Liverpool are
waiting for a decision from Lille striker Divock Origi, 19 - having held talks with him after agreeing a deal with the French club.
Spanish forward Iago Aspas could be on his way out of Anfield, with Sevilla in discussions to sign him.
The 26-year-old joined them for £7m from Celta Vigo last June but has struggled for first-team action, scoring one goal in 15 outings last season.
But Markovic is set to be the next arrival at Liverpool and become their fourth summer signing.
The Serbia international helped Benfica win the Portuguese title last summer after moving from Partizan Belgrade in the summer of 2013.
Liverpool have signed striker Rickie Lambert, 32, and midfielder Adam Lallana, 26, from Southampton for a combined fee of £29m.
Germany Under-21 midfielder Emre Can, 20, has also moved to Anfield, joining from Bayer Leverkusen in a deal worth £10m.
If Origi decides on moving to Merseyside, the Reds will pay a fee that could reach £10m with add-ons, and will loan him back to Lille for the 2014-15 campaign.
Origi was part of the Belgium squad that reached the World Cup quarter-finals, scoring their winning goal as they beat Russia 1-0 in Group H on 22 June.
Liverpool are attempting to strengthen their squad as they will compete in the Champions League this season and are selling striker Luis Suarez to Barcelona for £75m.
The Reds are also keen to sign Southampton defender Dejan Lovren, but have had a £20m bid rejected.
