Franck Ribery’s World Cup hopes were left hanging by a thread afterreports claimed the France midfielder could be set to miss out throughinjury.
The Bayern Munich star has been nursing a back problem for severalweeks, and now L’Equipe are claiming Les Bleus boss Didier Deschamps maybe forced to omit Ribery from his final 23-man squad which must befinalised by tomorrow evening.
France coach Bixente Lizarazu said: ‘We’re worried about Ribery because we don’t know what he has.’
Deschamps named Ribery on the bench for France’s World Cup warm-up friendly against Paraguay, but he is not expected to feature.
Should he miss out, Ribery would join a host of stars who have beencruelly ruled out of this summer’s tournament in Brazil through injury.
