Swansea City want Arsenal goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski

Garry Monk wants to make Arsenal's FA Cup hero Lukasz Fabianski one of his first signings as permanent Swansea City manager.

And Monk is also interested in taking Crystal Palace midfielder Jonny Williams to Wales, as he plans for next season.

Goalkeeper Fabianski is hoping to play for Arsenal in next Saturday's FA Cup final against Hull at Wembley before his contract expires, after saving two penalties in the semi-final shootout success over Wigan.

The Pole has rejected a host of new contract offers and personal pleas from Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger to stay at the Emirates.

Now aged 29, Fabianski is determined to play first-team football and is no longer content to be second choice in the Premier League to international team-mate Wojciech Szczesny.
Rated as one of the best free transfers of the summer, Fabianski has attracted the interest of a host of big clubs in the Premier League and overseas.
But he is keen to stay in England and wants to be sure that he will start as first-choice keeper at his new club.
Swansea, who confirmed Monk as full-time manager this week, are prepared to offer Fabianski that guarantee and hope it will be enough to convince him to move to the Liberty Stadium.
Fabianski has played in all of Arsenal's FA Cup ties on their route to the final, conceding just three goals in normal time.
Monk is expected to oversee a number of changes at Swansea that could see the club cash in on last season's star man, Michu.
Wales international Williams is understood to be another one of the players Monk is interested in signing, with the 20-year-old's Palace future unclear.
Williams was regarded as the best young talent at Palace, but he has been hampered by injuries and was sent on loan to Ipswich at the end of February.
Standing at just 5ft, 6in, Williams does not fit the build of Tony Pulis's preferred midfielders but his technical ability would fit in well to Swansea's style.
Williams has won five senior Wales caps and was last year tipped as having a bright future by his national team manager Chris Coleman.
