Keita is due to move to Merseyside in the summer, and would be open to the idea of doing so in January if possible.

Liverpool agreed a £55m deal for Keita last summer, and would be prepared to pay an extra premium in order to accelerate his transfer.

Leipzig, though, remain adamant that their star man will be staying put until the end of the season and Liverpool fear their stance will not change between now and the end of the current transfer window. The clubs negotiated amicably in the summer, and the Reds are eager to continue that relationship.

With more than £100m arriving immediately from the Coutinho deal, however, Liverpool are in a financial position to tempt Leipzig into doing business and will explore the possibility of doing so.

Oliver Mintzlaff, the Bundesliga club's CEO, spoke on the issue last week.

"Neither Naby nor his agent have made the request to leave the club in the winter," he told Bild.

"There are contracts, and they say that he will be a Liverpool employee from July 1 onwards."

Leipzig were eliminated from the Champions League in the group stage, but are handily placed to qualify for next season's competition.

They sit fifth in the Bundesliga at the half-way stage, just two points off second place. Keita, 22, has made 20 appearances this term, scoring five goals.

Discussing the possibility of a January deal for Keita back in December , Jurgen Klopp was downbeat.

He said: "How do we deal with this? I thought we don’t speak about transfers.

"There is an agreement with the club that he will come in June or July to Liverpool.

"There is nothing else to say about that. We really don’t think about it because of all the things Leipzig have said.

"They said they do not have to sell any player. Why should they do something like that (letting him leave in January)? So no, we don’t think about it."

德國傳媒報道，德甲球隊RB萊比錫近日態度軟化，願意讓球隊中場拿比基達提前離隊加盟利物浦，但條件是紅軍必須再度在已經傾妥的轉會費上加碼才能成事。

利記去年夏天以破球隊紀錄的轉會費，觸發了拿比基達與RB萊比錫合約當中僅值4,800萬鎊的贖身條款，有指利物浦當時同意支付的金額為6,600萬鎊。隨著巴西中場菲臘比古天奴以1.42億鎊轉投巴塞隆拿，一直有指利記將尋求提前得到拿比基達的加盟，但RB萊比錫一直堅拒。
最新報道指如果利物浦願意額外再支付1,300萬鎊（約13.74億港元）至1,750萬鎊的話，RB萊比錫將同意批准該名畿內亞國腳在冬季轉會窗期間離隊。拿比基達自從落實轉會後，今季表現累受批評，德國《圖片報》甚至報道，離隊心切的他更遭RB萊比錫的隊友疏遠。如果拿比基達真的提前加盟利物浦，他將無法在歐聯披甲，但卻可以在英超和英格蘭足總盃上陣。

Liverpool will open discussions with RB Leipzig in a bid to fast-track Naby Keita’s move to Anfield.

The Reds already have a deal in place to buy the Guinea midfielder this summer but they are prepared to pay an additional fee to get him six months early.

Jurgen Klopp believes securing the services of Keita during the January window would be the perfect fillip for his squad following the £142million sale of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona.

Sources close to the player have indicated that Keita is keen to complete the transfer now rather than see out the rest of the season as planned with Leipzig.

However, despite reports in Germany that the Bundesliga outfit have demanded an extra £13million, the ECHO understands that Liverpool have not been quoted a price.

Liverpool want to maintain good relations with Leipzig and if sporting director Ralf Rangnick sticks to his stance that Keita will stay put until the summer then the current agreement will be respected.

Leipzig boss Ralph Hasenhüttl reiterated today that he believes the 22-year-old is going nowhere until the end of the season. “There’s no reason to let Keita go now, and that’s the end of it,” he said.

If Leipzig have a change of heart and are prepared to let Keita leave during the current window then the final decision over whether Liverpool meet their financial demands will rest with Klopp.

The size of the fee will be balanced against the benefits of having Keita in the second half of the season.

He wouldn’t be eligible to play in the Champions League knockout stages but would be able to feature in the Premier League and the FA Cup.

The situation is complicated by the complex nature of the deal the two clubs struck back in August.

Liverpool would only say they had paid a premium on top of Keita’s £48million release clause.

However, a source close to the deal told the ECHO that Liverpool will pay Leipzig 75million Euros (£66.8million) if the German club qualify for the Champions League this season and 65million Euros (£57.9million) if they miss out on the top four.

Leipzig are currently fifth in the Bundesliga but are level on points with third placed Borussia Dortmund.
