- Talks ongoing between Paratici, Nedved and his agent Mino Raiola about the wage: ?12M/season + add ons.
- There would be a release clause into his contract with Juventus. This is part of the deal, Raiola and the director are speaking about this.
- Juventus are going to make an official bid to Ajax for ?70/75M. The agreement between clubs would not be a problem.
- De Ligt now has to decide about his next club. He’s not accepted any bid yet but he’s considering Juventus offer.
- PSG and Barça are still in the race. In particular, PSG was ready to finalize the deal but the change of the sport director (Leonardo in, Antero out) has created some problems. That’s why Raiola has started talks also with Juventus. But Paris Saint-Germain won’t give up and also today had contacts with de Ligt, they hope he can accept their bid.

Juventus are hopeful of beating Paris Saint-Germain to the signing of Matthijs de Ligt and have started negotiations with the player’s agent, Mino Raiola, in order to wrap up a deal.

PSG have been the favourites to sign the Ajax centre-back and offered him a five-year contract worth £340,000 a week 10 days ago. The 19-year-old, however, has not yet decided where he wants to play his club football next season and is still mulling over his future.

The situation at PSG is also complicated by the fact that they have just changed sporting director with Leonardo replacing Antero Henrique and that Neymar’s future is still undecided.

The Serie A club, with whom Raiola has a very good relationship, has offered the Netherlands international a weekly salary of £400,000 a week over five years. Talks are ongoing between Raiola, the Juve sporting director, Fabio Paratici and the vice-chairman Pavel Nedved.

Raiola and the player are keen to have a release clause in the contract and that has formed part of the negotiations. Juventus have yet to make a formal offer to Ajax for the defender but are confident that around ?70m or ?75m will be enough to seal the deal, a similar figure to what PSG have offered the Dutch club.

PSG are very much still in the frame and so are Barcelona, who have already signed the Ajax midfielder Frenkie de Jong for next season.

Juventus, confidence grows for de Ligt: the next 24 hours could be decisive

Juventus have had another day of contacts for De Ligt, and tomorrow could be the day where a deal is reached with Mino Raiola on the player's wages.

There are still details yet to be finalized but the confidence continues to grow. The next 24 hours should be decisive to completing a deal.

De Ligt has confirmed his preference is for Juventus, who must find the definitive agreement on the contact and beat out the competition for the defender.

Juventus reach agreement with De Ligt: now negotiating with Ajax

Juventus are working on making a significant addition to their aging back line. The bianconeri have made progress on the Matthijs De Ligt front, they offered him a 5 year deal with annual salary of ?12 million after taxes including bonuses, there will be an exit clause for ?150 million which will grow at end of each season,

This was an important detail in the competition with Paris St Germain since exit clauses aren’t allowed in Ligue 1, the French club is looking for an alternative but they are running out of time. Raiola has already told Ajax director Overmans about Juventus’ progress and now the negotiation between the clubs can begin, it could be long and with some pitfalls. Ajax are starting off with a request of ?75 million which is what PSG had offered.
