Reports suggest Spurs are in negotiations to loan winger Nani from Man United

Spurs are in negotiations with Man United about loaning Nani until the end of the season, according to reports in Le 10 Sport.

David Moyes has told the Portuguese international he is free to leave Old Trafford before Friday's transfer deadline after deciding he is no longer needed at the club.

The Red Devils would prefer to sell Nani permanently rather than seeing his contract and consequently his transfer value dwindle while out on loan.

Unfortunately for United officials, they have yet to receive any realistic offers for the man who has flattered to deceive since being billed as the next Cristiano Ronaldo.

Spurs may face competition for Nani from the likes of Inter, Juventus, Valencia, Fulham, PSG, Atletico Madrid, Sporting Lisbon and Galatasaray.

Transfer news: Catania's Maxi Lopez joins Sampdoria on loan

Sampdoria have agreed the loan signing of striker Maxi Lopez from Catania until the end of the season.

The former Barcelona man has struggled to make an impact at Catania, scoring just five goals since his arrival from FC Moscow in the summer of 2010.

Lopez spent last season on loan at Sampdoria and scored four goals in 17 matches for the Serie A outfit.

However, he has failed to make an impact since returning to Catania, making just five appearances this season.

It is thought the loan deal involves an option for Sampdoria to sign him permanently in the summer.

Lopez told Gazzetta dello Sport: "When this possibility arrived, I thought it was the right time to sign.

"It was an option that interested me very much. I phoned Mihajlovic and realised the seriousness he has for this project.

"I did not hesitate for a moment. I have definitely made the right decision."
