Nikica Jelavic is happy to be moving from Everton to Hull ahead of the World Cup

Everton striker Nikica Jelavic is relishing the chance to rekindle his career with a move to Hull City.

The two Premier League clubs agreed a fee for the Croatia international on Friday and the player is now negotiating personal terms.

Everton boss Roberto Martinez is willing to release Jelavic to help the player's World Cup fortunes as he has been reduced to a bit-part player

at Goodison Park after the loan signing of Romelu Lukaku.Jelavic has only made 10 appearances for Everton this season,


scoring his only two goals in his last match, the 4-0 victory over Queens Park Rangers in the FA Cup earlier this month.

And the 28-year-old is confident he is making the right move following discussions with Tigers boss Steve Bruce last week.

Jelavic said: "Steve Bruce called me and told me that he wants me in his team as a leading attacker.

"He asked me if I'm ready to move then talked briefly about the club, his coaching philosophy and about the club's goals.

"He was very confident during that conversation and after that I agreed to move to Hull City.

"The club suits me and I'm happy that the clubs have found an agreement for my transfer."

Transfer News: Hull City close on double signing of NikicaJelavic and Shane Long

Hull City chairman Assem Allam has confirmed they will signEverton striker Nikica Jelavic today and are in talks with West Brom forwardShane Long.

Steve Bruce has been looking to boost his forward line inthe January transfer window and has been linked with the two players for sometime.

Croatia international Jelavic moved to Goodison Park fromRangers in a £5.5m deal two years ago but has struggled to earn aregular starting berth under Roberto Martinez this season.

Jelavic has made only 10 Premier League appearances thisseason though and scored his first goals of the season in the 4-0 FA Cup winover QPR.

But Bruce is understood to have made the 28-year-old his toptransfer target for the January window and he looks to have got his man.

"He will sign today," Allam said of Jelavic wheninterviewed by Sky Sports News.

"It's a massive deal, our biggest ever. The club ismoving forward."

Allam is also hopeful they will also be able to bringRepublic of Ireland international Long to the KC Stadium.

Long has been linked with a move to East Yorkshire for sometime,

although Bruce was forced to issue an apology last weekafter media reports claimed they had already agreed a deal with West Brom forthe player.

Allam is hopeful the move will be completed though, leavingBruce with a potentially new strikeforce for Saturday's trip to Norwich.

"I hope so. I think we agreed terms," said Allamwhen asked about Long.

"It's a matter of talking, getting the club to releaseand the player to agree." annouce

Hull City have completed the signing of striker Nikica Jelavic from Everton for an undisclosed fee

Albion accept Hull bid for Long

Striker given permission to speak to Tigers

ALBION have accepted an undisclosed offer from Hull City for Shane Long.

The striker has six months left on his Hawthorns deal, plus a year’s option in the club’s favour, and has been given permission to talk to the Tigers.

Sporting & Technical Director Richard Garlick said: “We began talking to Shane about a new contract last Spring and, during the ongoing negotiations, we made him two offers which would have significantly increased his salary.

“However, despite our best endeavours, Shane has declined to sign a new contract.

“Shane effectively only has 18 months left on his deal and with him no closer to accepting our terms and then Hull making an acceptable offer, we felt it was in the club’s best interests to accept the bid.”
