Neven Subotic ruled out for the season

Dortmund have confirmed defender Neven Subotic has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after suffering a serious knee injury
in his side's 2-1 defeat to Wolfsburg on Saturday Dortmund's second loss in a matter of days was compounded by the news Subotic had torn a cruciate ligament in his right knee,
with the 24-year-old unlikely to recover in time for the end of the Bundesliga campaign.
Subotic was sidelined at the start of the year with a calf injury, but established himself alongside Mats Hummels to help Dortmund reach the Champions League final last season.
A statement on the club's official website read: "Neven Subotic is injured for the rest of the season. The
central defender tore the posterior cruciate ligament and medial collateral ligament tear in his right knee. According to team doctor Markus Braun, the 25-year-old
will be out for at least six months." Summer signing
Sokratis Papastathopoulos is expected to replace Subotic in the centre of Dortmund's defence..
